 MEET DR. SIDNEY PORTNOY
Founder and Director of Mediation Associates, Dr. Sidney Portnoy is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in
child and adolescent behavior. He is also director of Penn Valley Counseling Association who works extensively with children of divorce. Additionally, he is consultant to several
children's agencies and educational institutions and provides independent custody evaluations when requested by the Montgomery County (Pa.) Family Court.
Dr. Portnoy created Mediation Associates in 1997 to provide alternate dispute resolution for custody, divorce and family issues. He is a member of the
Academy of Family Mediators, the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators and the Family Mediation Association of the Delaware Valley. He is also a court-certified mediator for the Chester County and Montgomery County
Family Courts. He has been approved as an independent mediator for resolving employee disputes by the U.S. Postal Service. He has also been approved by the
Department of Justice for mediating disputes under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Dr. Portnoy believes mediation can provide divorcing couples a better solution to their
parenting issues and a more acceptable resolution to their own disputes.
